"As someone who was brand new to living in Colorado Springs, participating in the ALI cohort not only provided me the opportunity to meet other Latinx leaders from various industries within the COS community, ALI also provided me with valuable professional development in the form of culturally relevant and meaningful workshop experiences that center the Latinx identity - these workshops were developed specifically for ALI participants to experience and engage with the content and the speaker for own leadership Working in Higher Education, my main job function is to center and prioritize Diversity and Equity efforts on a college campus in the Colorado Springs community. Through participating in ALI, I was able to make professional connections with other Latinx leaders in the Colorado Springs community for the maximum benefit of our student population. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to represent the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and my ALI cohort by participating at the national level in the Latino National Alliance's 6th annual National Latino Leadership Symposium. I look forward to attending and bringing back as much knowledge and resources as possible not only for myself, but also for my community here in the Springs.
